For the second week in a row, the Swedish Superserien has a pair of new stats leaders as the league wound up its final weekend of play.
The four teams in the league this year – the Stockholm Mean Machines, Carlstad Crusaders, Örebro Black Knights and Uppsala 86ers – have played a five-game regular season and now head into the semifinal round which starts October 10.
Passing
Danny Farley of the Carlstad Crusaders regained the passing yardage lead in the final game of the season, a head-to-head encounter with former leader, Stockholm’s Tim Morovick. Farley threw for 191 yards while Morovick was held to 123 yards giving the Crusaders QB 787 on the season while Morovick dropped to 2nd with 771. He led the league in touchdown passes though with 9. Jake Sisson of the Örebro Black Knights finished 3rd with 516 yards. Mean Machines Jan Weinreich stayed 4th with his 406 yards while Uppsala 86ers Victor Ekberg climbed into 5th after throwing for 149 yards in the final game of the season against the Black Knights. He finished with 331 yards in his two starts.
Rushing
Carlstad’s Emil Knutsson held onto to his rushing lead with 257 yards after the final game of the year against Stockholm when he rushed for 67 yards. Tim Göransson of the Mean Machines wound up 2nd with his 234 yards while his Mean Machines QB Tim Morovick stayed in 3rd with 225 yards. Kasper Wedberg of the Black Knights was idle and finished 4th with 188 yards while Crusaders RB Emil Östlund has 171 yards and wound up 5th.
Receiving
Carlstad’s Jacob Bergwall leapfrogged from 4th to 1st in the receiving yards group finishing the year with 260 yards. Mean Machines receiver, Pär Lindelöf slipped to 2nd with 254 yards receiving while teammate Edvin Almeida Taborda held onto 3rd with 247 yards and a league-best 6 TD catches. Right behind him in 4th is teammate Ben von Jagow with 238 yards. Rounding out the Top 5 is Kevin Börzsei of the Crusaders with 191 yards.
