Hungarian Football League finalists, the Fehervar Enthroners have signed former Princeton quarterback Quinn Epperly for the 2022 season.
The Enthoners reached the Hungarian Bowl for the second straight season in 2021 after winning the title in 2019.
Epperly has had an excellent career in the United States. In his junior year at Princeton, he broke the NCAA record for most consecutive completions in a game (29) as well as the lowest interception rate in school history. He matched the Princeton single-season record for passing touchdowns (25) and was one short of single-season rushing touchdown mark (18). For his performance, Epperly was named Ivy League Player of the Year and finished 10th in the Walter Payton Award voting as the FCS National Player of the Year. Epperly finished his four years at Princeton with 3,857 passing yards with 35 touchdowns and 38 rushing touchdowns.
This outstanding season didn’t go unnoticed and earned him a spot in training camp for the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and New York Jets, but was cut from each before the season started. The left hander then took his talents to the German Football League in 2016 and the Rhein-Neckar Bandits. He only played in eight games throwing for 1,605 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 365 yards and another six scores.
In 2017, the 6’3″, 215 pound native of Knoxville, Tennessee got another shot in the pros in the Canadian Football League with the BC Lions. Injuries cut his time with the Lions short, however. He then signed with Sioux Falls in the Indoor Football League. The following year, Epperly made the move over to The Spring League.
Although the Hungarian season isn’t expected to start until May 2022, Epperly is scheduled to arrive in Hungary next week to begin preparation.
