European League of Football releases 2025 schedule with championship rematch in Week 3
The European League of Football has released its schedule for the 2025 season which kicks off May 17.
The 16 teams have been divided into four divisions, the North, South, East and West. The North contains the reigning and back-to-back champions, the Rhein Fire along with the Berlin Thunder, the newcomers to the ELF, the Nordic Storm and the Hamburg Sea Devils while the South is home to the Helvetic Mercenaries, Madrid Bravos, Munich Ravens and Raiders Tirol. The East has the Wroclaw Panthers, the 2022 title holders, the Vienna Vikings as well as the Prague Lions and Fehervar Enthroners while in the West are two powerhouses, the 2023 finalists, the Stuttgart Surge and 2024 semifinalists the Paris Musketeers along with the 2021 champions, the Frankfurt Galaxy and the Cologne Centurions.
The Rhein Fire open the new season on May 17 against the Paris Musketeers. Meanwhile, the Madrid Bravos who reached the Wild card round last year in their very first season, will play the Hamburg Sea Devils. Finally, the Wroclaw Panthers will square off against the Fehérvár Enthroners. On May 18, the schedule features the Berlin Thunder taking on the Cologne Centurions, the Stuttgart Surge battling the Frankfurt Galaxy, the Munich Ravens playing the Raiders Tirol, the Prague Lions facing the Vienna Vikings and finally a clash between the Helvetic Mercenaries and the Nordic Storm.
The Rhein Fire and Vienna Vikings square off in Week 3 in a rematch of the 2024 Championship Game. Week 12 will be a bye week for all teams.
The Championship Game is set for September 7 at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.
The six founding members of the ELF, the Frankfurt Galaxy, Hamburg Sea Devils, Berlin Thunder, Cologne Centurions and Stuttgart Surge from Germany and the Wrocław Panthers (Poland) are now entering their fifth season.
The three teams entering their fourth season are the Rhein Fire (Germany), and the Vienna Vikings and Raiders Tirol from Austria. The teams playing their third season include the Paris Musketeers (France), Helvetic Mercenaries (Switzerland), Fehérvár Enthroners (Hungary), Prague Lions (Czech Republic) and the Munich Ravens (Germany). The Madrid Bravos (Spain) are entering their second season, while the Nordic Storm will be making their debut in the European League of Football.
