The 2-1 Wroclaw Panthers of the European League of Football have signed quarterback Slade Jarman. Jarman slides into the starting quarterback role after the initial injury to starter Justice Hansen was worse than originally thought, ruling out the former Sun Belt player of the year for the season.
The 6’4″, 210-pound Jarman last played this spring for the Shoulda Been Stars in the Fan-Controlled-Football League, an indoor 7-on-7 league where the fans call the plays. The left-handed passer threw for 603 yards, nine touchdowns, and only two interceptions, completing 56% of his passes. He also had several sneaky athletic receiving and rushing touchdowns.

Before playing in league featuring Terrell Owens, Johnny Manziel, Martavis Bryant, and other former NFL players, the 25-year-old was a started his college career at the historically black university, Mississippi Valley State (NCAA D1 FCS), where he split time for two seasons throwing for 1,081 yards, eight touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

The Pensacola, Florida native then transferred to Fort Valley State (NCAA D2) where he became a full-time starter during the 2017 and 2019 seasons, missing 2018 with an injury. Overall, Jarman threw for 4,413 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, while adding another 250 yards and eight scores on the ground during his career at Fort Valley State.
After playing with Polish quarterback Bartek Dziedzic last week in a tough loss to the Frankfurt Galaxy, the Panthers have now handed the reins to Jarman as he’s tasked with leading a talented Wroclaw team with high expectations this season. He’ll make his debut this weekend against a fast and physical Hamburg Sea Devils defense.
