ELF: Vienna Vikings sign Italian WR Jordan Bouah

The Vienna Vikings of the European League of Football have announced the signing of speedy Italian wide receiver Jordan Bouah for their inaugural season in the league.

The 5’11”, 196-pound native of Rome, Italy played in Italy and in the German Football League in 2021. He spent the 2021 Italian season with the Milano Seamen, helping the squad reach the Italian championship game. He led the team with 29 catches for 521 yards and nine touchdowns and was the third leading receiver in the Italian league in yards per catch and fourth in scoring receptions. Bouah then joined the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions for the last six games of the GFL season hauling in 12 passes for 214 yards, leading the team with a 17.8 yards per catch average. In late October, Bouah was a key when Team Italy captured the IFAF European Championship title with 108 receiving yards and a touchdown. In 2019 (2020 season was cancelled in Italy), Bouah was one of the 18 European players to attend the Canadian Football League Combine in Toronto and on April 11, the Ottawa Redblacks selected him eighth overall in the CFL’s first European Draft. He spent much of the season on the Redblacks practice roster.

At the time, he had just finished his sophomore season at California’s Saddleback College but had previously played for the Rome Gladiators and for the Italian national team. Bouah spent two full seasons with the Gladiators helping them move up from the third to the second division in Italy, catching 32 passes for 756 yards and 14 touchdowns in his two years.

Bouah explains why he joined the Vikings:

“I chose to join the Vikings because as soon the recruitment process started, I experienced a really welcoming, professional and enthusiastic environment. The Vienna Franchise is building something special, something that is able to stand out in this league. This energy plus the quality of the staff brought me to the decision to join the Vienna Vikings in this exciting league.”
