The Istanbul Rams, the latest addition to the European League of Football, have announced the signing of Phillip Gremaud as their defensive coordinator.
The 29-year-old native of Ventura, California had served as co-defensive coordinator for the Wroclaw Panthers in 2020, helping the team win the Polish championship that year. In 2019, he was the linebackers coach for the Panthers, then under head coach Val Gunn, now head coach of the Rams.
Gremaud, a graduate of Idaho State began his coaching career with the Ventura College Pirates where he had played for two seasons prior to joining Idaho State. Serving as a defensive assistant and assistant to the special teams coordinator, he helped the Pirates become South California regional champions.
At Idaho State, Gremaud was a two-year starter at linebacker before joining Brazil’s Curitiba Brown Spiders as a linebackers coach.
