ELF: Stuttgart Surge sign former Arizona State Sun Devils LB Khaylan Kearse-Thomas
The Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football have signed former DI standout linebacker Khaylan Kearse-Thomas. The former All-Pac-12 selection joins a growing cast of talents joining the Surge for a highly anticipated 2023 season.
The 5’11”, 220-pound defender was a standout during his senior season at ASU in 2019. During that season he made 64 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, four and a half sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. The stat-stuffing season earned him PAC-12 honorable mention honors.

However, Kearse-Thomas went undrafted during the 2020 draft as Covid 2019 cancelled his pro-day workout. He was picked up by the Tennesse Titans as an undrafted free agent but was released prior to the regular season. He then signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL but never made an appearance.
The Rancho Cucamonga, California-raised tackler was a former four-star high school recruit who chose Arizona State over Miami, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and UCLA.

The Pac-12 standout with NFL experience joins a star-studded defense in Stuttgart as head coach Jordan Neuman has already picked up several new talents from all over Europe, including his former team in the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. Thomas-Kearse joins veteran domestic talents Sasan Jelvani, Ville Valasti (Eastern Michigan), Goran Zec, Alexander Kress, and Rapheal Zistler.
