The European League of Football has released the schedule for the 2024 season with kickoff slated for May 25 and the Championship Game set for September 22 at VELTINS Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The opening weekend of play will see the Fehérvár Enthroners face the Vienna Vikings, the Helvetic Guards take on the Barcelona Dragons and the Milano Seamen square off against the Raiders Tirol on May 25. On May 26, the Wrocław Panthers and Berlin Thunder face each other while last year’s finalists, the Stuttgart Surge will play the Munich Ravens, the defending champion Rhein Fire will take on the Cologne Centurions and the Prague Lions will play host to the Hamburg Sea Devils.
The second weekend of action will see the “Battle of Austria” between the Vienna Vikings and the Raiders Tirol on June 1 while the Madrid Bravos and Barcelona Dragons will square off in the “Duel of Spain”.
A highlight of the season comes in week 8, when the Hamburg Sea Devils face the Rhein Fire at the Volksparkstadion.
The seven founding members of ELF, the Frankfurt Galaxy, Hamburg Sea Devils, Berlin Thunder, Cologne Centurions and Stuttgart Surge from Germany, the Wroclaw Panthers (Poland) and the Barcelona Dragons from Spain are entering their fourth season. The defending champions Rhein Fire (Germany), along with the Vienna Vikings and the Raiders Tirol from Austria are entering their third season, while France’s Paris Musketeers along with the Helvetic Guards (Switzerland), Fehérvár Enthroners (Hungary), Prague Lions (Czech Republic), Milano Seamen (Italy) and the Munich Ravens (Germany) will be playing their second ELF season . They will be joined this year by the newest member of the league, the Madrid Bravos from Spain.
They all have one goal: the Championship Game on September 22 in Gelsenkirchen.
