The Prague Lions of the European League of Football announced the signing of veteran quarterback Brad Jones just prior to their home game against the Wroclaw Panthers.
Jones, who played in the game against the Panthers, a 73-13 loss, joined the team following the turmoil of last week which included the departure of head coach Zach Harrod and quarterback Nate Cox, and the players’ vote to forfeit the July 23 game against the Fehervar Enthroners.
Earlier this week the team had announced that after management changes they would return to play, and they entered the game with Jones behind center. They had found the veteran signal caller in their own backyard as Jones had a standout season in the Czech league, leading the Ostrava Steelers to the championship game and a 11-1 record. He threw for 3,456 yards and 38 touchdowns while tossing just five interceptions.
