ELF: Prague Lions sign Dave Warner as new HC

The Prague Lions have announced the signing of former Madrid Bravos offensive coordinator, Dave Warner, as their new head coach.

Warner takes over from Dan Disch who announced late in the season that he would be stepping down.

The Lions finished with a record of 1-11.

The veteran was a key to the success of the Bravos in their first year in the ELF. Madrid finished fifth in points scored with 411, sixth in overall yardage with 4,752 and third in rushing yards with 2,143.

With over 35 years as a coach, including 30 years spent overseeing quarterbacks, serving as an offensive coordinator, or passing game coordinator, Warner is a huge addition for the Lions.

His college coaching career definitely

During his time at Michigan State Dave Warner oversaw four NFL quarterbacks including Brian Hoyer, Kirk Cousins, Nick Foles and Connor Cook. All of those players went on to start an NFL playoff game. Warner has also coached running backs including two more NFL prospects who played for MSU, Jeremy Langford, and LJ Scott.

After his time at MSU he was hired by UTEP in 2021 and during his first year with the team he led them to 393 yards of total offense per game.

Needless to say, Warner is excited:

“I am truly grateful to owner Mason Parker and the Prague Lions organization for this incredible opportunity to serve as head coach and lead this program. I’m excited to get started and tackle the challenges that lie ahead. I guarantee that we will be a team that plays fast, physical, and with great effort in all phases of the game. Together we will work to create a team that our fans and the city of Prague can be proud of.”
