After multiple seasons playing in Germany, tight end Kevin Mwamba is going home.
The Paris Musketeers have signed the homegrown Mwamba for the 2024 European League of Football season.
The 6’2″, 260 pound powerhouse of a receiver and native of Paris has spent the past three years in the ELF playing for the Frankfurt Galaxy where in perhaps an underused capacity he caught 55 passes for 650 yards and five touchdowns. Prior to arriving in Frankfurt he played for the Potsdam Royals and Ingolstadt Dukes in the German Football League in 2019 after spending the 2018 season with his hometown La Courneuve Flash.
According to our expert analyst, Matt Bressington, there is more to Mwamba than simply pass catching ability:
“Mwamba looked further improved in the passing game this season, but his strength is still in the blocking. This statement is hard to quantify without stats, but it is important to note that he has seen a gradual increase in his receiving yards every season in the ELF. The Galaxy had a very successful season and through watching the tape Mwamba’s presence is certainly felt. He’s physical at the line, shows good pad level and has strong hands on the engagement. As a three-year ELF veteran, he will likely be on the Galaxy next season as he has been a stable part of their offence and identity as a team.”
With the Musketeers loading up for a run at the playoffs this year, bringing home wide receiver Anthony Mahoungou, re-signing quarterback Zach Edwards and signing defensive standout Maceo Beard, the addition of Mwamba is an important move.
