ELF: Paris Musketeers extend HC Marc Mattioli for a 3rd season

The Paris Musketeers have announced that Marc Mattioli will continue to lead the team in the 2025 European League of Football season.

Under his leadership, the Musketeers reached the ELF semifinals in 2024 following at 6-6 campaign in their inaugural 2023 season. Paris reached the Wild Card playoff round after finishing second in the ELF Western Conference with a 10-2 record. They defeated the Munich Ravens 40-37 to advance to the semifinals but were then beaten 47-31 by the Vienna Vikings.

An Atlanta, Georgia native, Mattioli has spent the last four years coaching in Europe. In 2021, he led the Italian Football League’s Parma Panthers to their first Italian Bowl title since 2013 beating the Milano Seamen in the final. They reached the semifinal round in 2022. Following his success in Italy, Mattioli joined the Leipzig Kings in the ELF to round off their season. He was named americanfootballinternational.com ‘Coach of the Year’ in 2021, for his successes in Italy.

Mattioli said this of the appointment:

“We are building something special in Paris. I love our team and it is a great joy to be the Head Coach of the Paris Musketeers. I’m looking forward to another year of leading the team in the pursuit of our goals.”

Mattioli began his coaching career at LaGrange College, a Division III program in west Georgia. Immediately showing his high ceiling, Mattioli won roles at primary NCAA FBS schools in Stanford University under Duane Akina and then Vanderbilt University as a defensive Backs coach under Derek Mason.

Current Inside Linebackers Coach for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and former Stanford colleague Peter Hansen commented on Mattioli’s original signing:
