ELF: Munich Ravens sign outstanding college LB Dexter Fitzpatrick
The Munich Ravens of the European League of Football have bolstered their defense with the signing of American linebacker Dexter Fitzpatrick from Mars Hill University (NCAA, Div. II), marking a significant move ahead of the 2025 season.
The LaGrange, Georgia, native concluded an outstanding collegiate career that saw him emerge as one of NCAA Division II’s most disruptive defensive players.
In his senior 2024-25 season, Fitzpatrick delivered a standout performance with 88 total tackles and 4.5 sacks across just nine games, averaging nearly 10 tackles per contest. This marked a dramatic improvement from his junior year (2023-24), where he recorded 69 tackles and 5.0 sacks in 10 games. His ability to penetrate backfields and deliver clutch plays earned him recognition as a cornerstone of Mars Hill’s defense.
The 6-2, 235-pound linebacker brings exceptional athleticism honed at LaGrange High School and refined through four collegiate seasons. His senior-year production – including 15.5 tackles for loss – demonstrated consistent growth in reading offenses and closing gaps. While he didn’t register interceptions during his college tenure, Fitzpatrick’s physicality in run defense and third-down pressure capabilities align perfectly with the Ravens’ aggressive defensive scheme.
Ravens defensive coordinator Markus Koch praised Fitzpatrick’s “sideline-to-sideline motor” and predicted his blend of technical skill and raw power would translate well to European competition. The signing continues the team’s strategy of recruiting NCAA talent, with Fitzpatrick expected to compete for immediate playing time when the Ravens open their season in May 2025. His journey from small-college standout to professional athlete serves as inspiration for Division II athletes aiming for international opportunities.
