The Milano Seamen have signed Eystin Salum for the rest of the 2024 European League of Football season.
Salum replaces Zach Bronkhorst who has been released.
The 6-1, 190 pound Aurora, Colorado native spent the last two seasons playing for the Legnano Frogs in Italy’s top league leading them to the Wild Card playoffs this past year where they lost to the eventual champions, the Parma Panthers, 29-20. In his two years, he threw for 3,072 yards and 22 touchdowns while rushing for 995 and another 19 scores. He was the league’s leading passer in 2024 throwing for 2,118 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Salum’s first stint in Europe was with Austrian powerhouse Vienna Vikings – prior to them joining the European League of Football (ELF). In seven games, Salum threw for 1,345 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 393 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. His stellar performance led the Vikings into the Austrian Bowl where they were ultimately defeated by the Swarco Raiders.
Prior to coming to Europe in 2021, Salum attended Colorado Mesa University (NCAA, DII) where over 41 games for the Mavericks he threw for a total 5,672 yards and 45 touchdowns and rushed for 2,374 yards and another 28 scores. He led his team to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) title for the third time in a row in 2017 and was named RMAC Offensive Player Of The Year.
