The Helvetic Mercenaries have announced the signing of British-German running back Tyrell Bovelle for the 2025 European League of Football season.
Bovelle spent part of the 2024 season with the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions of the German Football League where he rushed for a team-high 794 yards and six touchdowns in the eight games he played. His season best was 180 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries in a 17-0 win over the Berlin Adler.
The 5’10”, 205 pound 26 year old from Canterbury, England, was born in Paderborn, Germany but moved to Great Britain in 2011. In 2023, he helped power the East Kent Mavericks to the British Division 2 title. The Team Great Britain running back started playing football in 2014 with the Mavericks and switched to running back in 2017. He spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the Kent Exiles in the British Premiership South before returning to the Mavericks last season.
Interestingly, his parents named him after former Denver Broncos star running back Terrell Davis.
