ELF: Helvetic Mercenaries sign Australian LB Tom Hodgkinson

The Helvetic Mercenaries continues to add to their 2025 European League of Football squad with the signing of high-energy Australian linebacker Tom Hodgkinson.

Hodgkinson is coming off a season playing for the Oldenburg Knights in Germany’s GFL2. The 6-2, 215 pound 27 year old native of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia was an important key to the Knights front seven. Following a tough start to the 2024 season, Oldenburg won three of the last four games of the 2024 season to avoid relegation.

He played for his hometown Bayside Ravens in 2022 and 2023 and was named to the Queensland Sundevils, the Queensland all star squad that won the Australian national title.

In 2022, he earned the Ravens Man of Steel award after another outstanding defensive season.
