The Hamburg Sea Devils of the European League of Football have re-signed former Marshall/Tennessee State University (NCAA DI) quarterback Isaiah Green for the remainder of the 2023 season. Marshall has been brought in to replace starter Preston Haire who has been ruled out with a season-ending injury.
Green is no stranger to the ELF having played six games for the Istanbul Rams last season helping them earn their first win of the season and complete several close games following a lackluster first half of the season. More recently, Green won the Serbian championship in dominant fashion defeating Vukovi Beograd 48-7 to help the Kragujevac Wild Boars claim the 10th title in their history.
Green also spent the 2022 season playing for the Wild Boars and was named MVP of the Serbian league after leading the team to the Serbian Bowl where they fell just short of the title losing 24-17 to arch rivals, SBB Vukovi Beograd.
Following the end of the Serbian season in 2022, Green signed with the Istanbul Rams for the final six games of the European League of Football season. He had an immediate impact, helping them win their first game ever when they beat eventual ELF semifinalists, the Barcelona Dragons, in his first action. In the six games, he threw for 1,550 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 258.33 yards per game and 15.05 yards per pass. He also rushed for 478 yards and four touchdowns. averaging almost 80 yards per game, fourth best among all rushers in the ELF.
The 6’2″, 216-pound, 25-year-old from Fairburn, Georgia spent his junior season (2021) with the Tennessee State Tigers (NCAA Div. I FCS) starting five of the seven games he played completing 76 of 131 passes for 916 yards. Green played two seasons (2018, 2019) with Marshall University (NCAA Div. I FBS) where he threw for 4,897 yards and 30 touchdowns. Green is also a dual-threat passer as he ran for 441 yards and six touchdowns during his NCAA career.
