ELF: Frankfurt Galaxy sign ELF’s top tackler linebacker Wael Nasri
The Frankfurt Galaxy of the European League of Football have signed former French linebacker Wael Nasri.
The defending champion Galaxy are excited to snag one of the league’s top defenders to their side this season, Frankfurt Head coach Thomas Kösling on Nasri:
“We can announce an absolute top addition to our team in Wael Nasri. Next to playing in the European League of Football All-Star game, he led the league in tackles last year. He will definitely make our defense stronger”
The 5’11,” 230-pound linebacker led the European League of Football in its inaugural season with 141 total tackles in ten games, averaging 14.1 tackles per game for the Berlin Thunder. The 24-year-old also recorded 11 tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass breakups, and even blocked a field goal, earning ELF All–Star honors.
Nasri is thrilled to be joining the league’s first champions:
“First I want to thank head coach Thomas Kösling for bringing me to Frankfurt. I’m excited to join the Galaxy organization, looking forward to meet the coaches, my teammates and the fans as well”,
Nasri brings experience from playing college football in Canada, suiting up for the Concordia University Stingers (USports), and playing at Quebec’s Cegep level. He also played for the Triangle Razorbacks of Denmark in 2020 prior to joining the ELF. Nasri was invited to the NFL International Combine in London this past October but was not selected for the NFL’s International Pathway Player Program.
The French talent joins Swedish defender Sebastian Gauthier in what should be a fierce linebacking core in Frankfurt. The Galaxy have also re-signed quarterback Jakeb Sullivan and offensive lineman Yannic Kiehl.
