The Frankfurt Galaxy of the European League of Football have signed veteran All-European offensive lineman Basil Weber.
The inaugural league champions upgrade their offensive line with a proven impact blocker with experience in many of Europe’s top leagues.
Galaxy head coach Thomas Kösling on his newest lineman:
“The games will be won at the line and Basil Weber will certainly be a great help. He is an absolute powerhouse and has proven in recent years at the highest level that he is one of the best. We are very happy to have such a strong player in our ranks.”
The 6’3″, 309-pound native of Lausanne, Switzerland was the anchor on the best offensive line in Finland last season. A unit that allowed just one quarterback sack all season long. The AFI All-Europe selection and his offensive line teammates cleared the way for the highest scoring and rushing offense in the League.

The 32-year-old came to Finland after one season in German Football League, winning the championship in 2019 with the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions. He spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Thonon Black Panthers, anchoring the offensive line and helping Thonon reach the French title game both years. Now the German national team lineman looks to win yet another title in the European League of Football.
“I am excited to join the Frankfurt Galaxy, and look forward to meeting the coaches, my teammates and the fans. My goal is to help the team win another championship and keep the European League of Football trophy in Frankfurt.”
After a relatively quiet beginning to the off-season, Frankfurt has now signed several players for the upcoming season. The Galaxy bring back running back Gennadiy Adams, linebacker Sebastian Gauthier, quarterback Jakeb Sullivan, and add French defender Wael Nasri along with Basil Weber.
