ELF: Fehérvár Enthroners sign QB Gabriel Cunningham

The European League of Football’s (ELF) newest edition, the Fehérvár Enthroners, have signed quarterback Gabriel Cunnigham for the 2023 season.

The native of Alexander City, Alabama played his college football at Texas Tech (NCAA, DI) and New Mexico State (NCAA, DI) before making his way to Germany to play for the Bremerhaven Seahawks (2019) where he threw for 3,462 yards while rushing for another 760, accounting for 38 touchdowns in total. In 2020 he traveled to Brazil playing for the Coritiba Crocodiles (2020) but COVID cancelled the season. He suited up for three games with the Bad Homburg Sentinels in Germany’s GFL2 in 2021 throwing for 465 yards and two touchdowns.

Cunningham most recently played for the Leipzig Kings (2022) following an injury to starting quarterback Conor Miller. In three games he racked up 652 yards through the air and 10 touchdowns and rushed for 354 yards and three touchdowns.

Prior to signing in Leipzig in 2022, the 6’3, 205-pound dual-threat quarterback also played for the Tucson Sugar Skulls in the Indoor Football League.

Cunningham will be joining the newest team to the ELF, but a team that has played a high level of football from just outside of Hungary’s capital for years. His electric style of play will likely be something that the Enthroners lean on in 2023.
