ELF: Cologne Centurions sign ex-CFL & USD QB Judd Erickson

The Cologne Centurions of the European League of Football have signed quarterback Judd Erickson.

Erickson replaces Dylan Jacobs as the Centurions signal caller as 1-2 Cologne looked to make a change at the position approaching the middle of the season into the season.

The 6 ‘4″, 225 pound Erickson brings recent experience from the CFL, and NCAA DI football. The Colorado native was in training camp with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League before being cut following the pre-season.

The 24-year old threw only four passes for the Lions in pre-season going 2-4 for 14 yards. Prior to his pro-stint in Canada, Erickson began his NCAA career at Colorado State playing alongside current Helvetic Guards quarterback Colin Hill. After three seasons as a backup in Fort Collins, Erickson transferred to San Diego University where he quickly became an impact player.

Erickson played in 11 games over two years for the Toreros putting up 14 touchdowns and 1,749 yards. After his final season in 2022, he earned an NFL minicamp invite from the Denver Broncos before ultimately signing with the CFL this past spring.

Erickson is expected to make his ELF debut this Sunday as the Cologne Centurions host the red hot and undefeated Rhein Fire.
