With the European League of Football 12 game regular season at a close and the Wild Card Playoffs about to kick off, let’s take a look at the top players on offense.
To start, it’s no surprise that the top quarterback was the Rhein Fire’s Jadrian Clark, who topped the leaderboard and threw an incredible 53 touchdown passes well ahead of the number two, the Munich Ravens Chad Jeffries, who tossed 30. Both Clark and Jeffries along with the number three, Luke Zahradka of the Milano Seamen, surpassed 3,500 yards passing. A late season surge by Paris Musketeers’ signal caller Zach Edwards saw him climb in the final five. Another remarkable stat was the fact that the leading rusher, a homegrown player in Wroclaw Panthers RB Dawid Brzozowski, topped the rushing stats from start to finish.
The Rhein Fire and Munich Ravens topped the list with three players each among the top 15 on offense while the Wroclaw Panthers had two. A whopping seven teams had one representative each – Milano Seamen, Barcelona Dragons, Vienna Vikings, Berlin Thunder, Paris Musketeers, Hamburg Sea Devils, and Tirol Raiders. A total of six teams – the Fehervar Enthroners, Prague Lions, Stuttgart Surge, Frankfurt Galaxy and Cologne Centurions all have zero representation among the top offensive players in the league. (Not included is the now defunct Leipzig Kings).
Passing
Jadrian Clark of the Rhein Fire led all passers having thrown for 3,585 yards and 53 TDS in 12 games Munich Ravens pivot Chad Jeffries was not far behind with 3,533 yards. Third place belongs to Luke Zahradka of the Milano Seamen at 3,518 yards with Paris Musketeers QB Zach Edwards having a strong second half of the season throwing for a total of 3,096 yards and 30 TDs. In fifth is Conor Miller of the Barcelona Dragons who threw for 2,476 yards.
Rushing
The ELF top rushing list is dominated by domestic players led by Wroclaw Panthers RB Dawid Brzozowski who rushed for 1,116 yards and 12 TDs in 11 games with Tomiwa Oyewo of the Munich Ravens not far behind with 1,102 yards and 14 TDs. The Rhein Fire’s Glen Toonga was third with his 926 yards while Tirol Raiders RB Tomas Bonatti finished 4th with 776 yards. Vienna Vikings RB Florian Wegan wound up 5th with 693 yards.
Receiving
The leading receiver in the ELF from start to finish was Munich Ravens WR Markell Castle who caught 97 passes (68.3%) for 1,580 yards and 17 TDS. Anthony Mahoungou of the Rhein Fire climbed up to 2nd with 984 yards while Robin Wilzeck of the Berlin Thunder moved up from 5th to 3rd with 947 yards and 7 TDs. Hamburg Sea Devils WR Malik Stanley had an excellent 2nd half of the season and wound up 4th with 924 yards. Tony Tate of the Wroclaw Panthers finished 5th with 782 yards and 16 receiving TDs.
