ELF: 16 Teams in action in second to last week of regular season

We have reached the second-to-last week of the 2024 European League of Football season.  Here are the eight matchups of week 13.

Madrid Bravos (7-3) @ Paris Musketeers (8-2)

What started as a dream debut season has hit a few roadblocks as of late for Madrid.  After a 5-1 start, they have gone 2-2 in their last 4 games, which includes a loss at home against Paris and a surprising defeat in Frankfurt last week.  This will be the last home game of the regular season for the Musketeers, who will look to improve their chances of a home game in the playoffs with a victory.

Milano Seamen (3-7) @ Raiders Tirol (7-3)

After a thrilling 45-42 victory over the previously undefeated Surge last week, the Raiders now host a struggling Milano team.  This one should be a relatively easy one for Tirol, who look to stay in the playoff hunt.

Fehervar Enthroners (2-8) @ Vienna Vikings (11-0)

The Enthroners had the dubious honor of becoming the first team to lose to the Prague Lions last week, and now must travel to Vienna to face the undefeated Vikings.  The Hungarian side has given Vienna trouble in the past, but expect the Vikings to play hard as they would clinch an undefeated regular season with a victory.

Munich Ravens (7-3) @ Helvetic Mercenaries (1-9)

The Ravens absolutely destroyed Barcelona 90-0 last week, in easily the biggest blowout in league history.  They have another favorable matchup this week against the 1-9 Mercenaries, though the Swiss team will be fresh coming off a bye and will have home field advantage.

Frankfurt Galaxy (4-6) @ Wroclaw Panthers (4-6)

Both of these teams entered the season with playoff expectations, but now they sit together at 4-6 and out of contention.  These teams met in week 4, where Frankfurt got the upper hand by a score of 20-10 at home.  Now Wroclaw will try to split the season series in Poland.

Barcelona Dragons (2-8) @ Stuttgart Surge (9-1)

Stuttgart is fresh off their first loss of the season, putting an end to their hopes of an undefeated season.  Fortunately for them, they face a mess of a Dragons team that lost 90-0 last week.  Nothing else needs to be said here.

Cologne Centurions (4-6) @ Hamburg Sea Devils (2-8)

The Cologne Centurions face the Hamburg Sea Devils in a battle of German teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs.  There is little more than pride on the line for this game in Hannover, though the 2-8 Sea Devils would surely like one more victory in their final game in Germany this year.

Berlin Thunder (5-6) @ Rhein Fire (10-1)

It seems like Berlin cannot catch a break, as it feels like they play an elite team nearly every week but cannot find a way to beat one of these teams.  They just lost a heartbreaker at home last week to Paris.  Now they have arguably their toughest test of the year, a road game against the mighty Rhein Fire.
