Dresden Monarchs Tailback Donald Russell Invited To NY Giants Mini Camp
The spotlight has definitely been turned on Europe. NFL Draft Diamonds has just reported that former Dresden Monarchs running back Donald Russell has been invited to the New York Giants mini camp.
Russell had an outstanding year playing in Germany in 2015 carrying the ball 161 times for 1,592 yards and 20 touchdowns good for third in the country. The 5’10”, 220 lb Russell also caught five touchdown passes and had five kick return touchdowns.

A former Georgia State standout, Russell worked out for the Green Bay Packers earlier in March. He had been signed by the Atlanta Falcons in 2013 and played in two preseason games.
The Dresden Monarchs is the team that also produced Polish lineman Babtunde Aiyegbusi who was signed by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015 and played the entire preseason.
