Dresden Monarchs re-sign top WR in Germany, KeVonn Mabon
The Dresden Monarchs, German Football League semifinalists in 2019, re-signed the league’s leading receiver after KeVonn Mabon has agreed to return.
Mabon led the league in receiving yardage with 1,680 and 20 touchdowns during the regular season and in the playoffs had 166 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He is always dangerous and being a physical receiver presents all kinds of matchup problems for opposing secondaries. He was the go-to receiver for both Dresden quarterbacks in 2019.
The 6’2″, 215 lb, 26-year-old Mabon, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, finished his career at Ball State with 244 catches for 2,862 yards and 12 touchdowns. In his senior year, he started all 12 games at wide receiver and was also utilized as a kick returner. He led the team in both receptions (85) and receiving yards (972) established a new school record for career receptions with 244. Mabon was a three-time All-MAC selection and led the conference with 27.2 yards per kickoff return in 2015. He totaled over 1,000 yards from scrimmage for the first time in his collegiate career in his senior year. He went to training camp with the Tennessee Titans in 2017.
Dresden head coach Ulrich Däuber:
“KeVonn was the pillar of our offense in 2019 and is one of those athletes who can make a difference in tight games. No matter who defends against him, KeVonn reliably gets his yards.”
