The undefeated Potsdam Royals will put their record on the line as they host the 2-1 Dresden Monarchs on Saturday as we head into week six of the German Football League.
The Monarchs will be looking to build off a strong performance against the Berlin Adler, in which they beat the 2-2 Berlin team 35-12 in front of over 16,000 home fans at Rudolf Harbig Stadion.
Unsurprisingly, the matchup saw another dominant performance from Dresden Monarchs WR Austin Mitchell, with 12 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns giving him his third straight 100-yard game. To Mitchell’s standards, however, 140 yards is nothing special, with his two games prior recording over 225 yards apiece. To nobody’s surprise, this gives him a league-leading 199.7 yards-per-game on top of his eight touchdowns, which also places him atop the leaderboards.
QB Steven Duncan also found Finnish RB Nico Barrow and British WR Tommy Wilson, giving himself an impressive statline of 271 yards and four touchdowns on 67% completions. On top of Barrow’s receiving touchdown, he also carried the ball 16 times for an impressive 116 yards and a score.

DB Narrio Walks had himself a game on defense, leading the team with eight tackles and a tackle-for-loss, as well as a blocked punt which set up Barrow for his aforementioned rushing score.
The Potsdam Royals have been dominant all season, with playmakers all over the field.
Headlined by former Boise State QB Jaylon Henderson, the Royals boast the GFL’s leading offensive unit, scoring over 40 points in three of their four games this season.

Their most recent game saw Henderson put up over 300 total yards and five touchdowns on the winless Kiel Baltic Hurricanes, with Danish WR Simon Fons reeling in three catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
American WR Brandon Polk has played a huge part in the success of Potsdam, with six receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown, complimented by two rushes for 49 yards and a score.
Defensively, however, Potsdam showed signs of weakness, conceding 23 points to the 14th ranked offense in the GFL.
With both teams having two of the most electric offensive units in the league, this game is sure to be a high-scoring thriller.
