The Copenhagen Towers and Triangle Razorbacks are headed back to the Danish championship game – the Mermaid Bowl – for the second time in two years and third since 2013.
The Towers made short work of the Aalborg 89ers, disposing of them 52-20 to advance to the title game for the fourth straight year. The Razorbacks again, as they did in 2018, staged the upset, defeating the second place Sollerod Gold Diggers 20-16.

Towers quarterback Danny Higgins threw three touchdown passes, all to Lasse Tor Hansen, and ran another one in himself. Anton Witmeur and Michael Konate each scored touchdowns with Mark Peters hauling in a scoring pass from backup quarterback Lucas Ravn. Copenhagen also scored on four two-point conversions.The defense contributed with a safety.
For the 89ers, Alexander Kronborg threw three touchdowns passes, two to Breon Allen and one to Raehback.
The game was over early as Copenhagen exploded for 38 first half points to take a 38-6 lead into the break and then cruised for the win.
Triangle Razorbacks 20 – Søllerød Gold Diggers 18
The Razorbacks took a 13-0 first half lead extending it to 20-8 midway through the third quarter, only to watch as the Gold Diggers battled back, narrowing the gap to 20-16. A last gasp drive by Søllerød ended with a goal line interception and the Razorbacks came away with the win.
Ben Von Jagow scored both offensive touchdowns for the Razorbacks, hauling in scoring passes from Jarius Moll and quarterback Reed Gottula. Niko Lester returned a third quarter punt 60 yards to account for the other scoring.
For the Gold Diggers, Mike Mønsted scored both touchdowns with Simon Toftager and Griffin Norberg adding the two-point conversions.
Mermaid Bowl XXXI featuring the Copenhagen Towers and Triangle Razorbacks is scheduled for October 5 at Gladsaxe Stadion north of Copenhagen.
