Denmark: Copenhagen Towers sign QB Josh Greaves

The Copenhagen Towers, defending and nine-time Danish Nationalligaen champions, have announced the signing of Joshua Greaves as their quarterback for the 2022 season.

The 6’2″, 205 pound, 24-year-old from Granada Hills, California, spent three years playing for Occidental College (NCAAA-DIII) in Los Angeles where he was a three-year starter, two- year captain and in the Top 10 in every statistical category in school history. In his 19 career starts he threw for 3,709 yards (7th) and 27 touchdowns (6th) while rushing for another three. In his senior year, he threw for 2,413 yards (6th) and 17 touchdowns (7th).

In this past season, while working on his master’s in international business he played for the University of Nottingham in Great Britain throwing for 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns, leading his team to a 7-1 record.

Greave’s decision to say yes to Towers is based on both football and Copenhagen itself:

“Coach Peter is a very successful coach and in our conversations over video I loved his energy and approach to the sport. The other reason was the city of Copenhagen itself. I myself am from a big city, Los Angeles, so moving to a big city like Copenhagen will be an easier transition for me. The city is also very beautiful with a lot of history, which is something I am also very happy about. ”

Greaves explains what he thought was the end of a 16-year football career:

“I honestly thought I would just play one season and then retire from the sport, but this opportunity was too good to say no to when Towers gave me the opportunity to continue playing the sport that I love. ”
