Kevin Blue, UC Davis Athletic Director:

“Dan Hawkins demonstrates an uncommon intellectual curiosity and shares our earnest commitment to the scholar-athlete ideal. Dan’s understanding of our successful football history, combined with his knowledge and experience in contemporary college football, makes him the ideal coach to move our program forward.”

Hawkins, who has gained a global following after running football camps in Australia and Europe as well as coaching internationally, was clearly happy:

“This is a tremendous opportunity, right time and place. UC Davis is committed to success in athletics and football. A great university with a worldwide reputation of academic excellence, that wants to match the same level of success in football. Bringing the Bring it on Sports of Australia, Carlstad Crusaders, and Vienna Vikings back to the States. We will still continue to spread our knowledge and love of American football to all of our wonderful friends and partners across the world. Thanks to Roger Kelly and American Football International for promoting football on a global level. GO AGS!”
