CFL Combine 2019 – How well did European players test?
For the first time ever, 18 players from five different countries outside North America took part in the CFL Combine presented by New Era.
The European players were introduced to physical testing on a big stage for the first time and some rose to the occasion while others struggled.
France’s Marc Anthony Hor led all global players in the bench, and placed third overall among all the prospects, with 28 reps of the 225 lb weight that is standard for all football testing.
Another key test in football is the 40 yard dash and here again a French player, Asnnel Robo, topped the global contingent racing to a respectable 4.59 seconds which also was third overall. Italian wide receiver Jordan Bouah recorded a 4.68 second 40 while Finland’s Kimi Linnainmaa was clocked at 4.73.
Surprisingly, 6’2″, 233 lb German linebacker Thiadric Hansen scored the best vertical jump with a 38″ leap which tied him for third overall. Hansen also had the longest broad jump reaching 10’2″.
