The Central European Football League semifinals kick off this weekend with two outstanding matchups.
The defending Austrian champions, the Danube Dragons, travel to Thonon-les-bains to take on the French title holders, the Thonon Black Panthers. The Dragons defeated Italy’s Firenze Guelfi 45-20 in the quarterfinal round while Thonon had no trouble with the Graz Giants from Austria, beating them 30-6.
In the other semifinal, France’s Flash de la Courneuve, will play host to the Swiss title holders, the Calanda Broncos. The Broncos defeated the Danish title holders, the Copenhagen Towers, 33-10 in the opening round and then turned back the Italian champions, the Parma Panthers, 34-20, in the quarterfinals.
