Central European Football League Cup dates set
The Central European Football League – CEFL – has finalized the teams and schedule for the 2018 CEFL Cup with four teams included from four different nations.
Last year was the inaugural year for the CEFL Cup, and it was considered more of a developmental competition. It was started as a project to spur the advancement of growing teams. Last season it highlighted teams from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia who have used the international stage to raise the level of their game. Serbia’s Novi Sad Dukes won the title, defeating the Kranj Alp Devils from Slovenia in the final.
This season, the aim of the Cup was to invite top level teams.
The Gdynia Seahawks, 2017 Polish finalists, the Hungarian champions, the Budapest Cowbells, Serbia’s SBB Vukovi Belgrade, multi-title holders and perennial contenders for the Serbian title and the 2017 Turkish runners up, Sakarya Tatankalari, will face each other in a single round knock-out tournament.
CEFL Cup games will be played the following dates:
April 29: Gdynia Seahawks – Budapest Cowbells
May 12: Belgrade SBB Vukovi – Sakarya Tatankalari
The finals will be played on June 9 and the host city will be decided between Budapest, Hungary and Belgrade, Serbia.
The championship game for the Central European Football League will be played on the same day as the CEFL Cup final.
