Carlstad Crusaders cruise past Eidsvoll 1814’s in CEFL opener
The Carlstad Crusaders (1-0) delivered a commanding 37-0 shutout of Norway’s Eidsvoll 1814’s (0-1) in their Central European Football League debut, dominating all four quarters at Carlstad’s Tingvalla IP on April 27.
Crusaders dominate early
QB Slade Jarman (3 TDs) opened the scoring with a 14-yard strike to WR Leo Markusson, capping a methodical first-quarter drive. The Crusaders extended their lead in the second quarter when Jarman found WR Anton Jansson on a 23-yard slant, though a holding penalty later nullified a 58-yard TD pass to Markusson before halftime.

Second-half surge seals rout
K Christoffer Helgar (7 points, 2 INTs) added a 37-yard field goal after Jarman’s 31-yard scramble set up the attempt. Jarman then connected with Markusson again for a 24-0 lead, exploiting Eidsvoll’s fatigued secondary. The Norwegian squad’s desperation plays, including failed fake punts, yielded no momentum.
MVP closes the show
RB Oliver Skoglund (89 rush yards) bulldozed for a 12-yard TD late in the fourth, while backup QB Simon Turzik capped the scoring with a 5-yard keeper. Helgar’s defensive heroics — including a red-zone interception — stifled Eidsvoll’s lone promising drive.
Key stats
• Carlstad: 412 total yards, 5 TDs, 0 turnovers.
• Eidsvoll: 112 total yards, 3 INTs, 0/4 on fourth downs.
Helgar’s dual-threat performance (2 INTs, 3/3 PATs, 1 FG) anchored the Crusaders’ balanced attack, while Eidsvoll’s offense failed to cross midfield after the first quarter. The shutout underscores Carlstad’s CEFL title ambitions, while Eidsvoll faces urgent adjustments as they return to the Norwegian league.
