Five-time defending Swedish champion Carlstad Crusaders continue to re-sign players from last year’s squad. Today it was confirmed that the Brit Harry Routledge returns for another season.
Harry Routledge was the fifth best wide receiver in Sweden‘s top American football division – the Super Series – last year with 759 yards on 36 receptions, with 9 TDs and is known to be the best deep threat when he topped the league with 21.1 yards per reception. His re-signing reinforces Carlstad’s offense and promise to keep their passing attack at the top of the league.
Carlstad Crusader‘s club director Robert Sundberg:
“It feels really good to have Harry comes back, as we saw last year how potent a player he is. The trend has really shown that he can become one of the series’ best wide receivers and he played a prominent role in the Super Series final last year.”
“But it’s not just on the field, where Harry shows what an asset he is to the club. He is an extraordinary person and he helped with coaching for women’s teams and youth teams, and has been a part of our recruiting activities.”
With Routledge in place the five-time defending Swedish champion Carlstad Crusaders have most of last year’s players on the offensive side of the ball back. Last season they set the team record in the Super Series with 58.8 points per game in the attack. Now the team has had another year of preparation to get games and timing to work even better.
Returning on the offensive line is Mattias Olesen, but it remains to be seen if the offensive line giant Thomas Falklind will return after a back injury that kept him sidelined for all of last season.
