Brasil Onças Preparing for IFAF World Championship
Between April 18th and 21th, the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol Americano (CBFA) will have all of its attention concentrated on Irati Town, Paraná, Brazil where they will hold a training camp aimed at preparing the Brasil Onças for the IFAF World Championship.
The coaching staff is led by head coach Dan Muller who has called 65 athletes in to try-out for the roster. Only 45 players will travel to the United States to defend Brazilian flag in at this summer’s IFAF World Championships in Canton, Ohio.
Besides the players attending the training camp, Brazilians who play overseas in semi-professional or amateur leagues may also be invited to the final roster.
President of the Brazilian federation, Guto Sousa, on the camp;
“This first preparation period will be essential for the coaching staff to analyze the current level of the athletes and make their first observations. The World Championships will be the most important moment in the history of all the CBFA and will spare no effort to provide the athletes better training conditions that are within our reach.”
For players, the expectation and the desire to be among the selected 45 is huge.

Brazil is in Group B of the competition with France, Australia and South Korea.
In group A are the United States, Mexico, Japan and Canada.
The first match for Brasil Onças will be against France, on July 9th, at Fawcett Stadium, in Canton, Ohio.
