The Limburg Shotguns (4-1) will play host to the Kasteel Nitros (3-2) Saturday, May 28 at Mijnstadion in Beringen, Belgium.
Limburg finished the regular season second behind the unbeaten Amsterdam Crusaders while the Nitros were right behind in third. The Shotguns only loss was to the Crusaders while Kasteel dropped two games, one to the Crusaders and the other by a score of 35-16 to Limburg. In that game, the Shotguns took a 35-0 lead into the fourth quarter before easing up.
Shotguns quarterback Bram Baete leads a balanced attack that starts with running back Jaycen Taylor who scored the opening touchdown against the Nitros the last time these two teams met and is dangerous every time he touches the ball. Backfield teammate Javen Brontly-Helsel is another key threat on offense. Receivers Mathieu de Hoffmann, Gorik Braet and Quinten Agten all had touchdowns in the earlier win over the Nitros.
Shotguns defensive lineman Saïdi Kikunda and linebacker Nick Vanhee anchor a solid defense that has allowed just 44 points in five games.
Kasteel quarterback Aaron Vancoillie will be hard pressed today, but he has weapons including wide receiver Vincenzo Claes.
The winner of this game will advance to the BNL Championship Game on June 11.
