Austria: Rematch of championship game highlight of weekend’s AFL games

The Austrian Football League heads into third weekend of play with 2923’s top two teams facing each other in the feature game.

The Danube Dragons and Vienna Vikings are set to clash on Easter Sunday while Saturday March 30, the Prague Black Panthers head to Innsbruck to take on the Swarco Raiders and the Mödling Rangers will play host to the Telfs Patriots. All three games will be livestreamed. In the only game unavailable for viewing, the Graz Giants and Salzburg Ducks square off in Salzburg.

Saturday March 30

Prague Black Panthers (0-2) @ Swarco Raiders (1-1)

The Swarco Raiders are coming off a tough loss to the defending champion Danube Dragons after opening the season by manhandling the Mödling Rangers 45-2. Meanwhile, the Prague Black Panthers have fallen to 0-2 following back to back losses to the Vienna Vikings, 28-22, and Graz Giants, 15-7. Prague went unbeaten in the 2023 regular season.

Telfs Patriots (0-1) @ Mödling Rangers (0-2)

The Telfs Patriots suffered an embarrassing 83-7 loss to the Vienna Vikings to open the season while Mödling lost to the Swarco Raiders 45-2 and Graz Gianst, 13-0.

Vienna Vikings (2-0) @ Danube Dragons (1-0)

The Danube Dragons looked impressive in the opening day 23-7 win over the Raiders while Vienna racked up and 83-7 rout of the Telfs Patriots and then followed that up with a solid 28-22 win over the Prague Black Panthers.
