The Atlanta Falcons have announced they have released 20 players including French receiver Anthony Dable whom many observers thought had a chance to make the 53 man roster. All 32 teams must cut down to the 53 man active roster by 4 pm Saturday, September 2.

Other casualties included Danish offensive lineman Andreas Knappe and Norwegian/American quarterback Alek Torgersen.
Many feel that Dable performed well enough during training camp and in the four preseason games to have a good chance to make the team. At very least, he is a likely candidate for the practice squad according to many.
In the final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he had one catch for 22 yards.

In total, in the four preseason games the Falcons played, Dable recorded seven receptions for 88 yards, and saw much more action than he did a year ago with the New York Giants.
