An Early Look At The Super Bowl Favorites
We may only be on Week 9 and at the halfway point of the regular season in the NFL, but January and the postseason will come round soon enough and there’s plenty we can already take as we start to look forward to the Super Bowl on that first weekend of February.
There have been some incredibly strong starts from the likes of the Steelers, Chiefs and Seahawks, but who are the favourites with the bookmakers?
We take a look at what the bookies are saying about the main contenders…
Kansas City Chiefs
The bookmakers are loving the Kansas City Chiefs at the minute, as are the fans all over the world with them keen to not only bet on them, but also watch games too. Brands such as 101greatgoals live sports streaming, have seen a notable demand for Chiefs games and they are certainly the team to beat at the moment.
They are favourites with the bookmakers to win the Super Bowl at +350 and have a 7-1 record so far, topping the AFC West division as it stands. Their only defeat came against the Raiders in a 40-32 defeat, but they have bounced back and won their last three, including a massive 35-9 win against the Jets last time out.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have won seven from seven now and really are one to watch in the AFC. Their coach Mike Tomlin has been mightily impressive in his plays and is certainly a contender for Coach of the Year.
The Steelers are currently priced at +550 to win the NFL Championship and are certainly worth a punt currently, particularly as they are continuing to improve. They were excellent against a strong Baltimore Ravens team last time out, and have picked up some big wins over the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants too.
The next few weeks could be crucial, and a few more wins they could jump ahead of the Chiefs as favourites for the Super Bowl.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tom Brady effect has been huge on the Buccaneers and they have enjoyed a solid start to the season in the NFC. They’ve picked up six wins from eight and are the NFC’s best hope of a Super Bowl winner according to sports betting sites.
They are priced at +650, with Brady priced at +1300 to win MVP, but you can guarantee if he takes the Buccs all the way it’s his for the taking. They enjoyed a close win against the Giants last time out, which may worry fans slightly given the awful season the New York franchise are having, but a 45-20 win over the Raiders and 38-10 win over the Packers certainly show they mean business.
They look destined for the play-offs this year and it will be interesting to see just how far the legendary quarterback’s influence can take them.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks are one of the standout teams so far this season and have a 6-1 record with their only defeat coming against the Arizona Cardinals in what was a very close OT contest.
They bounced back to beat last season’s Super Bowl runners-up the San Francisco 49ers 37-27 and have a run of fixtures they will fancy, including the chance to get their own back on the Cardinals in a few week’s time.
They are priced at +800 with the bookmakers and are perhaps the dark horses to go all the way in the AFC.
