Brett Koepp has been a standout running back for the Swedish champion Carlstad Crusaders for the past two seasons and re-signed with the club for the 2015-2017 seasons back in mid December 2014. His exploits in Sweden have not gone unnoticed in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois.

For an import player to re-sign with a club for a third year is unusual, but for another three is almost unheard of.
“I am very excited to return to be a part of the Crusaders `family`. The organization has been terrific to me and it has given me an opportunity to play football and contribute in the community as well.”
But Koepp is not your normal import running back and the Crusaders are not your typical Swedish American football team. At 6’1″ and 255 lbs, he is definitely a beast to tackle and over the past two years he has gained 1,628 yards rushing while scoring 25 touchdowns. Add to that another 14 touchdowns and 720 yards in in the air and you have a complete offensive scoring machine. Carlstad has gained from Koepp’s power, winning another two straight Swedish championships, (giving them five in a row) with him in the backfield.
“We have watched Brett evolve over the past two years into a feature running back. His qualities as a player on the field and off the field as well convinced us to keep him for as long as possible. He has helped the organization in a variety of ways including with the junior programs and even with recruiting. We couldn’t be happier”
