American Football Emerges in Morocco
Through Facebook 60 Moroccan American Football fans have been gathered by a Moroccan expatriate engineer in France. Supervised by seven coaches as well as a number of volunteers, the group has founded a organziation to form a national Moroccan American Football team.
The last weekend, the team, called by its creators ‘Morocco’s American Football Team’, participated in a tournament in France, where it placed seventh out of the twelve teams participating.
The sport emerged in 2012 with the creation of two amateur teams in Rabat and Tangiers, and the organization’s goal is to create the first national American Football championship in Morocco.
