Ready to talk international football?
Join us for another episode of AFI Live on Facebook Sunday, May 31 at 4 pm Central European Time (10 am Eastern Daylight Time) as we chat with UC Davis head coach Dan Hawkins.
Our panel – John McKeon, Kaleb Leach, and Roger Kelly – will be on hand to ask questions and hopefully answer your questions as we discuss the situation in football in Europe with regards to the coronavirus.
Our guest has an incredible background in football with a wealth of international ties. He served as the head football coach at Willamette University (1993–1997), Boise State University (2001–2005), and the University of Colorado (2006–2010), compiling a career college football record of 112–61–1. Hawkins was the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 2013. Between 2011 and 2016, he served as a college football analyst for ESPN. He was the head coach of Team USA in 2015, guiding the team to the 2015 IFAF World Championship title. Later that same year he served as offensive coordinator for Sweden’s Carlstad Crusaders helping the team win both the Swedish and European championships. He was the offensive coordinator for the Vienna Vikings of the Austrian Football League in 2016. He has served as head coach for UC Davis since the beginning of the 2017 season, compiling an overall record of 20-16.
Dan has traveled extensively holding football clinics in places as far away as Australia.
In other words, he has some great stories.
