The Örebro Black Knights (0-0) open their 2025 Swedish Superserien season on the road as they face the host Kristianstad Predators (0-1) in an Easter Sunday clash.

The Predators dropped their first game of the season last weekend, losing 16-14 to arch rivals, the Limhamn Griffins.

In the only meeting between the two teams in 2024, the Black Knights cruised to a 48-2 victory at home in Behrn Arena.

Predators quarterback Samuel Jämthammar threw for just 139 yards in the loss to Limhamn but connected for two touchdowns one each to Olof Nilsson and Elliot Lindehammar. With a ground game that produced a mere 35 yards in total last week, Kristianstad will have to rely on Jämthammar’s arm to carry them against the Black Knights.

Under new head coach Branko Mutic, Örebro has assembled an impressive lineup with a couple of surprises. New quarterback Viktor Ekberg, who also serves as the Swedish national team QB will have an array of excellent receivers to target including brothers Johannes and Jesper Lindéus as well as former quarterback for the team, 6-7, 220 pound Trevor Vasey. The ground game is led by Czech national team running back Jakub Brezina.

This will be an excellent test for both teams. Playing at home Kristianstad will have a chance to come together after last week’s tough loss while a road game is a great way for Örebro to bond as a team with so many changes in the lineup from last year’s squad.
