The Villepinte Diables Rouges (1-3) will play host to the Rouen Leopards (1-3) at the Stade Laurent Plegelatte on the outskirts of Paris, Saturday, March 8 as the French D1 Elite league enters its fifth weekend of play.

This is the first meeting between these two teams.

The Rouges opened the season, their first in France’s top league, by beating the Saint-Ouen Cougars 20-6 but then dropped a narrow 10-8 decision to the defending champion Thonon Black Panthers in Week #2. A week later, however, they were overwhelmed by the Asnieres Molosses 33-7. The La Courneuve Flash then handed the Rouges a 16-7 defeat.

The Leopards lost 33-6 to the Asnieres Molosses to open the 2025 season but rebounded with a 24-21 win over the Cougars. However, they suffered a 34-0 shutout at the hands of the Flash two weeks ago before being shut out again, this time 45-0 at the hands of the Black Panthers.

Defensively, Villepinte have impressed for a new team in the top league allowing only 15 points a game. Their issue is offense. They have scored a total of 42 points in the four games. Fortunately for them, they are facing a team that has scored just 30 points in four outings while giving up a whopping league-worst 133.
