Every year Austria’s Vienna Knights do their part to help spread good cheer and good will at Christmas by organizing the Chevalier Bowl in Vienna. This year is no different and the Knights will host the Budapest Wolves from Hungary in their 6th annual Chevalier Bowl this Saturday,December 12.
The proceeds from the game are used to buy toys to fulfill the Christmas wishes of children from the Austrian Children’s Villages.
The Knights had an outstanding season in 2015 playing in Austria’s Division 3 going undefeated and advancing to Division 2 where they will compete against the Wolves in 2016.
Budapest plays in the Austrian league and won their division in 2015 with a 7-1 record and they also play in the Hungarian league finishing the 2015 season as league finalists.
The 2011 game against the Ljubjana Silverhawks from Slovenia featured some hard hitting.
Game time weather is expected to be ideal for football, just above freezing, and the event will be filled with a Christmas atmosphere including a seasonally decorated village.
There will be plenty of food and punch for spectators as well as pregame and halftime activities.
The Chevalier Bowl is always hotly contested and this year will be no exception. Take a look at more highlights from the 2011 game which the Knights won 20-7.
