ESPN Recruiting Nation and 3STEP Sports team up with American Football International (AFI) to find Europe’s top talents.
November 26th-27th, Agger Stadium in Troisdorf, Germany will be home to ESPN analysts and recruiters, Under Armour High School All-America Game player selection directors, German National Junior Team coaches, and global sports media site American Football International (AFI). All eyes will be on the top European youth talent selected for this premier, sold-out camp.
All camp coverage and video content can be followed on www.americanfootballinternational.com, as well as ESPN recruiter Twitter handles @HamiltonESPN and @CraigHaubert.
Athletes at this inaugural “Elite 200 Prospect Camp” will be hoping for the chance to be the next Moritz Boehringer (the first player ever to be drafted directly into the NFL from a European League) as they showcase their abilities during combine testing, game simulations and positional drills. At the camp’s completion, each athlete receives a thorough evaluation to be provided to all U.S. college coaches. One player will also be designated as the strongest camp performer and will be rewarded with his own article on ESPN.com.
Why the Elite 200 Camp is Unique
This camp is the first-of-its-kind to take place outside of the United States and it is evidence of the expansion and popularity of the iconic American sport. The intent is to serve as a pilot program for identifying future potential American team players globally and to provide them with a platform to garner online/media presence and access to recruiters and analysts.
Camp Leaders
- 3STEP Sports’ Operational Staff from the Under Armour Football Camp Series
- German Football Federation & American Football & Cheerleading Verband Nordrhein-Westfalen (AFCVNRW)
- Troisdorf Club host committee
“We hope to come away having improved skill sets for each athlete,” says Billy Tucker, 3STEPs’ Director of Player Personnel for the Under Armour All-America Game. “Most importantly, we want to provide athletes with a global platform for American college and media exposure.”
