With training camp and the preseason just weeks away, National Football League (NFL) fans and sports gamblers are busy preparing for yet another year of exciting action. No one is going to soon forget watching the New England Patriots stage one of the greatest comebacks in Super Bowl history last year to beat the NFC’s Atlanta Falcons 34-24 in overtime. Will either of those teams make it back to the big game for Super Bowl LII to be played in Minneapolis, Minnesota?

A quick look at the board indicates bettors believe the Patriots and future Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady have at least one more championship run left in them. For anyone with a differing option, the potential reward could be quite significant. Let’s take a look at two teams that represent great value going into the 2017 season.
Dallas Cowboys (10-1) – After cruising through the regular season with a record of 13-3, the Cowboys ran into a red hot Green Bay Packers team and lost in the conference semifinals 34-31. After going 4-12 the prior season, the Cowboys had just completed one of the greatest turnarounds in sports history. With rookies Ezekiel Elliot (RB) and Dak Prescott (QB) having a year of experience under their belts, the Cowboys will be looking to take another step forward. At 10-1, there’s real value in the number.
Pittsburgh Steelers (16-1) – During a season that saw QB Ben Roethlisberger struggle with injuries while All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell served a 4-game suspension, the Steelers still went 11-5, only to lose to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Patriots in the AFC Championship game. The pieces are still in place and the Steelers still play in one of the weakest divisions. If Roethlisberger can avoid injury and the defense plays just a little better, it may be enough to stamp a ticket to Minneapolis. This is one of the best offenses in football. The gap between the Steelers and the Pats is a lot less that 16-1 versus 17-5. That’s real wagering value.
